Websites

My classroom website where I post updates and news regularly.

A great teacher resource is the Ontario Education Resource Bank.  This site has hundreds of resources available for teachers and for students to use.  It is full of interactive sites, resources for teachers etc.

Some popular websites students enjoy using are:

Prodigy:  is an online math game where students create an avatar and complete challenges to be able to purchase more items to complete more challenges.  This is a free program.

Mathletics:  This is a great math program that kids love to play.  They can compete against each other, teachers can set specific tasks for students to do and everything is recorded for the teacher to view.  It is a highly beneficial program but it does cost quite a lot of money.

Zac Browser: It is a Internet browser developed specifically for children living with variants of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, PDD not otherwise specified and PDD-NOS, also called atypical autism. Zac Browser is software that allows the child to access games, activities (based on diverse interests) along with videos (that allow a stimulating experience and encourages children to talk). All games, activities and videos are specifically chosen for their positive effect on children suffering from autism. (taken from info from Board Teaching and Learning Hub)  This program is also good for FDK and primary students as it is highly engaging and teacher them at a young age how to use all the functions of a computer.  My son in SK loves it!

MathFrog: Is a fun, interactive Math website with games that allow students to extend their learning.

Cool Math Games: Another popular Math site that kids enjoy using.

Boogle: An online version of Boogle that students enjoy using to expand their vocabulary.

Tumble Books: Students enjoy looking and listening to books through this site.  Our town library has a subscription available for us to use.

Study Jams: A good site that has short videos about different concepts relating to Science and Math.
