I am excited about this new program and look forward to having my students connected. I plan to get my students logged in and able to use the program and then will have interested teachers sign up to have myself and my students come and train their class on the use of Office365. I would also make myself available to other teachers to help them become familiar with the program and provide suggestions for how to use it effectively.
I anticipate using the calendar so students can see upcoming events and due dates. I can share assignments with them electronically so they can't say that they forgot it at school! I will use the email feature to have them send typed assignments to me and then I can comment and return. I would like to use the chat feature to allow students to collaborate on various topics and share their ideas via technology. I will encourage and share with the students how to use OneDrive so they can avoid having to have a USB key to transfer files from home to school and vice versa.
I will introduce this program to parents as well so they are aware that their child can access all of this from home and it is all secure.
I really look forward to beginning to use this program. The Board has provided some pdf files with instructions for all of the applications within the program that I will use when needed.
