Programs

There are many different programs that will be incorporated into my classroom throughout the year.  Below is an overview of those programs.


Prezi: Video
Prezi allows user to create online presentations featuring text and graphics in a unique format.  It has easy to use templates and allows easy integration of videos and links.

Premier Suites:  is an Assistive Technology program that enables students to use word prediction, have sentences or whole selections read to them, built-in dictionary, thesaurus, highlighting ability plus much more.  Students will all be trained on the program and can use it when required.  Our board also has a license for at home use that enables all students to download and use at home.  Here is a link that lists many video tutorials.  This is useful in helping all students improve their writing.


Audacity: is a simple program where students can record their voices and then edit if required.  This is useful to have students listen to others reading a book or to have students create a 'podcast' for other class mates to listen to.


Bitstrips: Video
Allows students to create,share, and collaborate on comics that they create online.  A very interactive tool to use for various subjects.

Skype:  is a program used to video chat with others.  This would be beneficial for sharing information between students across different towns, provinces, and countries!
